David Borcsok
Head, Impact Investing –  RBC

Please join us as David Borcsok shares his perspective on the intersection of impact investment and the rapid technological changes our world is faced with today, such as the emergence of artificial intelligence and automation.

He will discuss how investing in technology that drives resiliency will provide a powerful force to enable individuals and communities to endure and thrive during the transition from a “linear”, or human scale rate of change, to a world driven by an inevitable “exponential”, or technological, rate of change.

In his role as Head, Impact Investing at Royal Bank of Canada, David is responsible for continuing to develop RBC’s leadership and enterprise capacity in impact investing.

Previously, David was the Fund Manager of the RBC Generator; an impact investment fund raised as part of the RBC Social Finance Initiative where he executed an investment program focused on social entrepreneurs, social impact bonds, and other outcomes finance structures.

David has been an Adjunct Professor at Ryerson University when he taught entrepreneurial finance, and a lecturer at Queens University Smith School of Business in the impact investing education program.

He is a Kauffman Fellow (Class 20), and has been recognized as a New Leader by the Carnegie Council, and selected as a David Rockefeller Fellow at the Trilateral Commission.

Prior to joining RBC, David was an Investor with TrilogyGrowth L.P., an early stage consumer focused venture capital firm and began his career as a Venture Fellow with Rhode Island-based investment firms Cherrystone Angel Group and Ocean State Angels.

David attended graduate school at Brown University earning an M.P.H., and spent time at Harvard University Graduate School as a Visiting Graduate Scholar. He also holds an H.B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University.
